The 7th District Basketball Program provides boys & girls
ages 6-11 with an opportunity to learn and play the game of basketball. We work with the Hereford Recreation Council, and the Hereford Travel Basketball Program to accommodate players of all skill levels.

Late registrations are subjected to be on a wait list and a $20 late fee.
Season Schedule
1st - 5th Grades: November 1, 2017 - End of January 2018.
Leagues Offered:
Clinic: A coed league for 6 & 7 year olds designed to introduce your child to the game of basketball, its rules, and the fundamental skills required. Season runs from the beginning of November through the end of January. Cost is $60 per child.
IF YOUR CHILD IS GOING INTO SECOND GRADE AND PLAYED IN THE CO-ED CLINIC LAST YEAR AS A FIRST GRADER AND WOULD LIKE TO PLAY “UP” IN THE 8 AGE BRACKET AS A 2ND GRADER HE OR SHE WILL BE ABLE TO DO SINCE THEY HAVE 1 YEAR OF BASKETBALL EXPERIENCE.
Ages 8-10: The boys & girls are separated into separate leagues, and they are divided into 2 different age groups:2nd-3RD graders (including the 2nd graders that played last year) & 4th and 5th graders. At this age your child will continue building on the foundation established in Clinic. Fundamentals are still stressed, while competing against teams from the other Hereford rec councils. Season runs from the beginning of November through the end of January. Cost is $80 per child.
Ages 11+: If your child is 11 and in 5th grade, he/she may play in our 4th-5th grade league. If your child is 11 and is in middle school, your child will need to sign up for Hereford Rec basketball as a middle schooler. The older age groups are organized through the Hereford Zone Recreation & Parks Council. Please visit www.herefordrec.org for more information.

Notice for Travel Basketball
ANY PLAYER TRYING OUT FOR, OR PLAYING IN, ANY TRAVEL LEAGUE MUST PROVIDE NOTIFICATION WHEN REGISTERING FOR REC. LEAGUE BASKBETBALL.
Generally, Travel team players fall into two categories with regards to Rec. League Basketball:
A. those that try out for a Travel team but WILL NOT play Rec. League Basketball if they make the Travel team; or
B. those that try out for a Travel team, but WILL play Rec. League Basketball even if they make the Travel team.
IF you fall into category "A" listed above (i.e. you WILL NOT play Rec. League Basketball if you make a Hereford Travel Team), you are advised to wait until after Hereford Travel team tryouts and cuts have been made until you sign up for Rec. League Basketball. Hereford Travel Boys and Girls Travel team tryouts and cuts are scheduled to be completed by October 5, 2017. This will allow minimally a few days period for players that do not make the Travel team to register for Rec. League Basketball before the end of the registration period on October 10, 2017.
If you fall into category "B" above and intend to play Rec. League Basketball even if you make Travel team roster, then you are encouraged to sign up for Rec. League Basketball any time prior to October 10, 2017.
Refund Policy
No refunds will be issued after practices begin. Any cancelled registrations, or requests for refunds, are subject to a $10 league processing fee and any applicable credit card/registration service processing fees.
